Dear Mick - 12th January 1968

Do hope you are keeping warm up there, received your letter yesterday with thanks, and relieved you arrived back safely, but what's this about going to Winchester, have been looking at the map, it's a hell of a way for you to travel in one day. You sound pretty desperate to get away from that place. I do hope you get your wish, it might be warmer somewhere else at the moment. I can only think of you freezing in that damp bed, good job you have a hot water bottle. Will parcel your old pyjamas up today and send, is there anything else you want? I expect you are finding the roads bad up there, they are terrible here at the moment, your father has had to to walk half way to work. John and Dorothy recieved their Jamboree Bags with glee and send their thanks, they will be writing. Can't think of anything to jibber about so will close, hoping you reamain in good health, without further trouble with your (salivary) glands etc. Keep warm and happy I hope. Love Mum.
